MARCH :   A walk around historic Leura
Monday 12 March
We start off our year of exploration at our own doorstep with a walking tour of historic Leura village. Local historian John Low will lead us on this easy paced walk covering the area from near the Highway and through the village centre and its side streets. John promises that there will be a few surprises along the way. Opportunity for morning tea along the way and we will finish the tour in time for lunch. APRIL:  Kurnell and Cooks landing place
Monday 23 April
We have tried to organise this tour as close as possible to the date of James Cooks landing at Kurnell on 29th April. The 8 days spent here and the observations Cook and his crew made and reported on shaped the future of this land.

The National Parks Visitor Centre boasts a historical exhibition, theatrette and a small gift shop.  The flat terrain outdoors should suit all fitness levels with a walk to the landing site and viewing of monuments. Interpretive signs throughout explain the cultural and natural history of the area. We will also have an opportunity to stop at a couple of scenic points overlooking the ocean and the entrance to Port Hacking and have a drive around Cronulla. Travel will be by 20 seater bus with our Secretary at the wheel.

MAY:  Lithgow Zig Zag
This excursion is still in the planning stage and this site will be updated as soon as all the details are confirmed. To avoid the problems we experienced last year with track work, it is intended to have a car pool arrangement among members for transport to Clarence and back.

This site will be updated closer to the tour with all the specific information. Bookings have been confirmed with the local museum and a tour guide arranged to show us around Carcoar.
Travel will be by 20 seater bus.
